What the PMP costs — and when membership breaks even

In short

The PMP exam fee is $425 for PMI members and $675 at full price, paid only after PMI accepts your application. PMI membership costs $164 a year.

One attempt plus one year of membership totals $589 — $86 lower than the full-price path. The calculator below does the same arithmetic for the CAPM, or both exams in one membership year.

On one attempt, the member route is $589 ($425 exam + $164 membership) against $675 at full price — $86 lower. The fee difference alone would cover a membership price up to $250. This is arithmetic, not advice to join PMI.
